PROJECT ŻERAŃ

Delivery of heat exchangers for the new gas and steam unit at the Żerań CHP Plant in Warsaw.

A gas and steam unit with an electric power output of 450 MWe and thermal output of 255 MWt is currently being built at the Żerań CHP Plant in Warsaw. It is a most modern facility of this type in Poland that will use high-performance and modern gas technologies to meet the strictest European environmental criteria.

Famet as a company with high engineering competence and equipped with a modern production line for specialized heat exchangers for the industry (including the energy, chemical and petrochemical industries) has supplied large-scale heat exchangers: District Heater 1 and District Heater 2, for the needs of this project.

DH1 and DH2 heat exchangers are used to heat water flowing in U-tubes made of stainless steel by the heat of condensing steam in the casing.District Heater 1 is an U-tube heat exchanger with a hotwell and neck (weight approx. 175t, overall dimensions approx. 16.7x9.5x7.0 m).Due to the heavy weight and critical dimensions for road transport of the completely assembled apparatus, it was delivered from the Famet's production plant in Opole to Warsaw in three separate parts. The largest part (weight ca. 126t, dimensions ca. 16.7x4.1x4, 2 m) is shown in the video.District Heater 2 is an U-tube heat exchanger also with oversized transport parameters (weight ca. 130t, dimensions ca. 18.9x4.2x4.3 m). The heater was transported from Opole to Warsaw assembled without supports.
